The LSEG Data Management Solution (LDMS) is a modular system for the collection of commodities and financial data curves, which typically includes actual and forecast market prices.

The system has been designed to support data inputs from a variety of sources, including LSEG, Third Party and customer-generated (“Proprietary”) data. The system maintains a catalogue of metadata describing the source and also manages a number of non-curve-based data sources.

Data can be searched and reported on using the Web Application, which provides screens to search for curves by metadata, find curve and tabular data, and configure access rights, validation rules and derived curves.

The system consists of the following elements:

  • The Data Repository, currently being a SQL Server database, into which data is loaded and then made available to the other elements of the system.
  • The Agents, which collect data from the configured sources and loads the data from the various sources into the Data Repository.
  • The Web App which is used to view and report on data stored in the system, observe the status of the Service, and to configure Proprietary Curves, Validation rules, Corrections, etc.
  • The Excel Add-In, which is an Excel add-in to query data from the Data Repository and make it available to the user in Excel.
  • The REST API, which allows access to data held in the system using standardised web queries.

The system is normally delivered as a “Software as a Service” solution hosted in the cloud.
