No matter if you’re a rookie, or if you’ve mastered the Queen’s Gambit, put the Mate in Checkmate and join us for some strategy filled fun!

The 2020 Refinitiv Charity Chess Tournament will be held on December 17th from 1pm – 2.30pm GMT in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Each player will (virtually) face 4 opponents in timed matches with 10 mins clock time (so each game will take a maximum of 20 mins).

Players will be awarded points based on the outcome of the match, as follows:

Win: 5 points

Draw: 3 points

Lose: 1 point

The winners will be announced at a Prize Giving Ceremony on Teams in the last 10 minutes of the tournament.

For the Carlsens, Kasparovs, and Polgárs among you...we are thrilled to confirm that the prize will be a lesson with Chess Grandmaster Jakhongir Vakhidov !!!

The tournament will be hosted on chess.com. To join, you will need an account (free to sign up). The matches can be played on the website or on your mobile device.

Buy a ticket here. The price to join the tournament is £5, with the option to donate more of course. Keep your eyes peeled for a calendar invite from Teddy Chankova (Teodora.chankova@refinitiv.com) with all details of the tournament.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Please feel free to cascade this to your internal and external networks! Clients, friends and family are welcome to play! Each player just has to buy another ticket via Ticket Aid.
